Recently, Jordan Peterson did an extended interview with Bob Murphy. Peterson begins the interview by pitching it as a “two hour lesson in Austrian Economics”, but mainly, it was an overview comparison of the principles of Austrian economics against Marxism. It was difficult to dispute much of it. Im already a proponent of free market capitalism, and Im also fairly partial to Friedrich Hayeks work (at least, as it is represented in The Constitution of Liberty, and Law, Legislation, and Liberty). Im not quite as versed in Ludwig von Mises, but from what Ive heard said by folks like Murphy and others, it dovetails nicely with Hayek. Murphy says the key difference between them, is that one took an analytical approach, and the other a more empirical or (dare I say) sociological approach. That seems to square with what Ive read, to date.
